He saw her from afar.
She was nothing exceptional to look at,
Not a head-turner by conventional standards.
He could only see her dimly,
An incandescent light shining in his gray world.
The scales over his eyes prevented him from discerning her features,
But he could see more deeply than anyone else.

Training his eyes on her, he gazed searchingly where none other
Had cared to explore before,
And a kaleidoscope of color burst on his vision.
Poetry, vivid and passionate, overflowed from her soul.
Reading its lines, his cold heart melted as her fire gently burned him.

Sensing his gaze, she turned and began to walk towards him,
Ever so slowly.

He looked even further, and discovered that she had been fashioned
Differently than any other daughter of Eve.
Music, profound and mysterious, coursed through her veins,
Unfathomably luxuriant emotion hidden in the pentagrams of her being.
He listened, moved beyond words by the ageless, overwhelmingly rich tones
Illuminating his heavy darkness.

She came still closer to him, treading faster now, and as she walked,
The hard, unfeeling path beneath her small bare feet
Turned to plush, green grass,
And his endless winter transformed into vibrant spring at her wake,
The shadows fleeing from before her.

The scales began to fall from his eyes, and he was dazzled by her brilliance.
As she walked, she painted the earth with her vivid palette of subtle hues of
Unquenchable love,
Bells tolling to lament her suffering,
Passionate music that made his heart soar.

She was now close enough to touch. She smiled warmly at him.
The scales fell from his eyes…

And he saw she was the most beautiful woman in the world.
The earth stopped turning, his heart stopped beating.
The world revolved around them in a dizzying vortex,
Yet they remained still.
As he took her in his arms, the clouds on his brow lifted,
And the sun shone deathlessly, warming him.

His joy transformed her gray world into vivid hues of deepest colors,
Of unquenchable love,
Her heart melting beneath the radiance of his warm, tender feeling,
Her endless winter turning to ageless spring at his touch.
The lonely, beautiful music in each soul orchestrated with the other’s made them Complete.
